This song is about walking to your own beat - following your own truth.

We come into this world and we are constantly being indoctrinated by those before us. We just follow the path that we were told is the right path, the safe path, the smart path to follow.

But what I’m finding is that the free-er I become, the happier I become. Don’t worry about what other people think. Follow what makes sense for YOU.

And the freer we become, the more we can accept - the more we can accept death, the more we can accept tragedy, the more we can accept that life isn’t fair. It was PEOPLE who told us life should be fair. But life never told us that.

We will always be tempted. We’re never far from temptation. We’re never far from the things that are calling us in the direction that is wrong for us. But there’s no such thing as failures. There’s no such thing as waste. If your day was spent in enjoyment and if tomorrow you’re starting over again and you’re starting over with the right head and the right feeling, that’s not a failure. Failure is when we exist with other people’s thoughts in our head, with other people’s dreams, with other people’s wishes, with other people’s morals, with other people’s wants. That’s a failure. That’s when we didn’t live.

We live in this life and it is what it is. The joy we get out of our days and the people we are, those are the things that are beautiful about the world. Anything that is programmed into our minds by others is not really living. It’s just existing and dying. And the parts of you that are you, that are real, that’s more than existing. That’s life. That’s why the atoms clash. That’s why the matter matters.
